Project Description

Adelaide Oval is widely regarded as the most picturesque Test cricket ground in the world. It can accommodate close to 34,000 patrons for football matches and about 32,000 patrons for cricket matches.

Cox architects designed the A$95m new western grandstand to be contemporary yet sensitive to the heritage features of the Oval. The project had a tight construction phase as the stand had to be ready for the impending Ashes 2011 series.

Poly-Tech were awarded the waterproofing and industrial ftooring contract by Built Environs due to our specialist knowledge on large volume foot traffic systems, workforce mobilisation, multi skilled build ability and our cooperative and flexible approach to large scale contractual relations.

External areas consisted of UV stable coatings to walkways, stairs, plant rooms and balcony’s and a revolutionary under paving waterproofing system was used for the external terrace and bar areas.

Parchem Modo torch on was applied under the pavers, behind all pre filled walls and the players entry tunnels. All kitchens, entry halls, cleaners rooms and cool rooms had the Sika 3 coat system.
